How are molds and patterns paid for?

The custom in the industry is for a 50% down payment on molds, with the remaining 50% payable upon production of approved samples. Most companies with reasonable credit histories can expect a 15 day account on parts. Individuals or some companies with insufficient credit background may be on COD for 2 or 3 cycles, until experience is aquired with them.
